The lecture will be devoted to presenting the most popular and useful features of popular and reputable databases www.newenglandancestors.org, www.familysearch.org, www.genealogybank.com, and www.cyndislist.com.

New England Ancestors is the database of the 150+ year old New England Historic Genealogical Society. The newly upgraded site features vital records for Massachusetts dating back to colonial times and up to the 20th century. Free features include on-line seminars and listings of regional and national events.

Family search is the website of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The site offers free searches for ancestors and access to the two million plus microfilm roll collection that the church maintains in Utah.

Cyndi’s list is the most powerful search engine on the internet for high quality genealogy databases and subjects. It contains links to over 250,000 sites for every imaginable topic pertinent to genealogists and family historians.

Genealogy Bank is a fast growing website that contains one of the best newspaper collections on the internet.
